The folks at Butte Auto Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram are awesome! I drive from Bozeman because I appreciate the services and friendly folks to work with. They are patient and honest and will work hard to get things covered with any warranties you may have. Their prices are fair and the quality of work is great. I've had everything done from oil changes to new struts put in and been happy with all of it. I often sit in and wait during repairs of which the folks in the building are friendly. Whether I'm on my computer prepping as a teacher or there with my newborn in a stroller, it always been a comfortable and nice environment. Be patient and respectful as they are busy and definitely think about bringing your vehicle into them next time you need!

I went in to buy a 2018 Chevy Malibu with 38,000 miles. They had it listed for $18,000. The instant I went in to buy it, I got stuck with Spencer, who spent almost 5 hours total "talking to his manager" and "trying to get the price of the car down." He was super friendly in the beginning, that is, until we pointed out that several 2020-2023 Malibus around the state with similar or less miles were listed for the same price or less. Keep in mind, these cars were all "Almost New" with very little (if any) body damage. When I went to test drive the Malibu at Butte Auto, I instantly noticed several large dings all over the vehicle, and a cracked tail light, along with a golf-ball sized dent near the cracked tail light and several scratch marks. I was a new buyer, and unfortunately let Spencer know this, which he fully exploited. I was able to negotiate the price of the car down during the initial negotiation to $16,500, under one teeny tiny stipulation. I had to purchase their $1000 dollar windshield protection plan, $5000 warranty, and pay over $400 in fees, bringing the total to near $23,000, which he then tried to finance over a 72-month period (I later was able to negotiate the warranty down to $3,500). I tried to say I didn't want the plans, to which Spencer replied, "I can't lower the price of the car if you get rid of them. We need to make a profit somehow." His big selling point was that Butte Auto "owned" this previously fleet-owned, banged up car for $17,000. I talked to him several times, switching my payment method to a cashier's check without any of the additional plans or warranties. Even after pointing out that this was not an $18,000 car, and definitely not even $17,000 car due to the lack of VIN history and abundant scrapes, dings, and cracks, Spencer stood strong. I tried to get him to budge even a little bit and meet me at $17,000 plus fees. The outcome was straight out of the salesperson handbook. He took over an hour and a half to "consult his manager" after I made my final offer of $17,000, and finally made it clear that he wouldn't negotiate past $17,500 plus fees. Honestly, the part I'm most confused about is why he wouldn't negotiate $500 less for a car that I wouldn't buy for a penny over $15,000. I started this with the mindset that I wasn't going to go on here and write a bad review just to trash on Butte Auto, and instead present future buyers with the facts. I understand the language I use in here is loaded with my irritation at having 6 hours of my busy schedule wasted like this, but the facts are accurate. Read this post, decide for yourself what you think of Butte Auto, but I know I will never buy from here.

I got a lemon from butte auto in November of last year it was a used car unknown to me it had a bad transmission when I called to ask about it I was referred to a tire repair shop after spending hundreds of dollars to try and fix the problem I took it in to the dealership they told me I need a new transmission but my warranty expired a little over a thousand miles and now I’m paying for a car that doesn’t work I was sold a lemon and they don’t want to help fix it they referred me to another dealership instead of trying to fix my car they are horrible people and they have no problem selling a single mom a lemon screwing her over when life is already hard enough.

Before buying from here hit lowest there are literally 15 1 star reviews for this dealership that means there is a 20% chance you will have a 1 star experience. Thats not a gamble I should have taken but I did. Guess what the reviews were true - Very Poor experience. I am a fellow dealer and I bought a car from butte auto and there was severe undisclosed paint damage. Their sales rep Anthony told us that the car had and I quote "no issues" Their internal investigation means absolutely nothing they said they don't care that the car wasn't as advertised their cars are sold "as is and customer satisfaction is besides the point" this is a direct qoute from management
